Écologie et réalité

À la lecture du titre de l’article « Ces grandes villes écologistes à l’épreuve du réel » proposé par le média Objectif Métropoles de France, vous pensez bien que ma curiosité n’a fait qu’un tour et que je me suis précipité pour lire celui-ci.

Titillé par l’envie d’en savoir plus et surtout comment ces nouveaux élus écologistes avaient pu appliquer leurs promesses de campagnes, qui, à l’époque, avaient fait grand bruit tant elles semblaient disruptives et engagées.

Alors où on apprend que ces grandes idées, pour ne pas dire idéologies, se frotteraient finalement à l’épreuve du réel.
Comme l’écrit Aurélien Martinez, journaliste et auteur du livre-enquête « Quand les Verts arrivent en ville », ces élus « Désormais, ils se frottent à la dure réalité de l’action politique ».

Quelle surprise, me direz-vous.

Ceux qui voyaient dans leur volonté de faire « émerger un « municipalisme vert » pour développer un nouveau modèle post-covid » en sont pour leurs frais.
Se frottant à la réalité pragmatique des habitants ou des acteurs socio-économiques, ou tout simplement à la réalité pratico pratique de la gestion d’une ville, il apparaît que ceux-ci en sont désormais réduits à faire comme les autres… élus.

En fait, ils ont dû se résoudre à répondre aux besoins de leurs citoyens, plus simplement et plus vraisemblablement avoir une attitude que tout élu a depuis des décennies ou plus : celle de répondre aux attentes de ceux qui les ont élus.

En se heurtant à cette réalité technique, démocratique, ils sont confrontés enfin au réalisme politique de la gestion quotidienne (qui n’empêche pas une gestion de projet à long terme).
Un réalisme que connait tout élu en cherchant à faire avancer ses projets et son programme en tenant compte des réalités et non des idéologies.

En somme, une politique durable et de développement qui se doit d’être construite de façon pragmatique et réaliste, et qui sera, à coup sûr, la seule façon de vraiment faire progresser l’écologie dans nos villes et villages.
Une écologie au service des femmes et des hommes dans leur quotidien et adaptée aux usages de celles et ceux qui vivent et font la France d’aujourd’hui et de demain : les habitants.

Ce qui pourrait nous faire conclure que l’élu n’est pas au service de son idéologie, mais au service du citoyen. Même (et surtout) en matière d’écologie.
